About · Unicron Engineering Corporation

Engineering at the intersection of precision and intelligence.

The conviction

One thesis, applied end-to-end.

Unicron Engineering Corporation was founded on a single conviction: the best engineering outcomes are achieved when deep domain expertise and AI intelligence work together from the first moment of the design process.

We are a team of mechanical, systems and manufacturing engineers with hands-on experience delivering mission-critical projects for India's most demanding organisations — from ISRO's space programme to the Indian Army's precision munitions systems. Every project we have delivered operates in environments where engineering failure is not an option.

We apply that same rigour and standard to every client engagement — whether you are a hardware startup launching your first product, or a Tier-1 manufacturer optimising an existing production line.

Our difference

Why engineering leaders choose Unicron.

01

Defence-grade precision in every project

Our benchmark is aerospace and defence qualification standards — where components cannot fail. Every project we deliver, whether for an industrial client or a space programme, is engineered to the same standard of documentation, analysis and validation that mission-critical applications demand.

02

AI-native from day one

We didn't retrofit AI onto a traditional engineering practice. Our methodology was built around AI-augmented workflows from the start — generative design, predictive analysis, and intelligent manufacturing feedback loops are the standard process, not premium add-ons.

03

End-to-end ownership

From concept sketch to a certified, manufacturable component package — we own the full engineering journey. You don't need four different vendors for design, simulation, DFM, and production drawings. We deliver the complete stack.

04

Proven at the highest stakes

Our portfolio includes space-grade actuators for ISRO's Chandrayaan programme, flight control assemblies for the HAL Tejas LCA, and guided munition systems for the Indian Army. If it worked in those environments, it will work in yours.

Our team

A founder-led core, backed by a vetted engineering network.

Unicron runs a lean core team under direct founder supervision, extended by a project-engaged technical network of design engineers, simulation specialists, CNC/VMC machinists and commercial staff. Around 24 technical professionals are mobilised against confirmed project volume — scaling to the scope of the engagement without passing idle overhead to the client.

Every engagement is executed through the same staged model — scope and snapshot, resource mobilisation, design execution, supervised machining, quality checkpoints and documented handover — with defence and aerospace documentation discipline carried into industrial scopes. That structure is what lets a lean practice stand alongside far larger engineering primes.

Bikram Das
Founder & Principal Engineer

B.Tech Mechanical (JGEC), MBA Finance & Business Analytics (MAHE). 10+ years across defence/aerospace sub-systems, precision automation and SPM delivery. Previously Senior R&D Engineer at Zeus Numerix and Co-Founder & Director of Engineering at Stereomech International (70+ SPMs).

EM
Engineering Manager
Delivery & programme oversight

Owns scope capture, phase gates and client reporting across concurrent engagements. 12+ years running defence and industrial programmes to committed milestones, with escalation ownership from kick-off to handover.

QL
Quality Lead
Inspection & documentation

Defines acceptance criteria, inspection gates and as-built record packs. Background in AS9100/ISO 9001 documentation discipline carried from aerospace sub-assembly work into industrial scopes.

CL
Consulting Lead
UMIP™ diagnostics

Runs operations diagnostics, maturity scoring and transformation roadmaps for manufacturing SMEs — translating shop-floor evidence into board-level priorities and a costed 90-day plan.

Design, drafting & simulation

7 professionals · project-engaged
SD
Senior Design Engineer
Mechanical design

Takes a brief from concept studies to GD&T-controlled production drawings in SolidWorks and CATIA, owning tolerance stack-ups and DFM review with the machining team.

DE
Design Engineer
Fixture & tooling

Designs jigs, fixtures, gauges and end-of-arm tooling for repeatable set-ups — cycle-time and operator-safety driven, validated on the floor before release.

DR
Drafting Engineer
Detailing & release

Produces drawing sets, BOMs and revision-controlled release packs to ASME Y14.5, keeping client PLM/PDM records aligned across revisions.

SS
Simulation Specialist
FEA / CFD

Runs structural, fatigue, thermal and flow validation in ANSYS before metal is cut, and converts results into design changes rather than reports alone.

Manufacturing execution

10 professionals · supervised on-site
CP
CNC Programmer
CAM & programming

Builds toolpath strategy and cycle-time optimisation for close-tolerance components, proving out programmes before production runs.

VO
VMC Operator
Precision machining

ITI-qualified machinists with 2–3 years on close-tolerance aerospace and defence work, operating under documented set-up sheets.

AT
Assembly Technician
Build & commissioning

Sub-assembly build, fit-up and installation support, including on-site commissioning of special purpose machines.

IT
Inspection Technician
Metrology

Dimensional inspection against acceptance criteria using CMM, height gauges and profile checks, with signed inspection records per batch.

Commercial & operations

7 professionals · project-engaged
PC
Project Coordinator
Scheduling

Maintains Gantt plans, milestone tracking and the escalation ladder so clients always know status without chasing.

PE
Procurement Executive
Sourcing

Vendor development, raw material and bought-out sourcing with qualification checks on every new supplier.

AE
Accounts Executive
Commercial

Costing, invoicing and contract administration, including milestone-linked billing schedules.

CR
Client Relations
Communication

Single point of contact for each engagement, running structured weekly status reporting and review calls.

Network professionals are engaged on a project basis rather than fixed payroll headcount — the model used by most lean engineering firms operating alongside larger primes. Named profiles and photographs are published with each member's consent as engagements are confirmed.
